Who these terms are with.
The Sleeptel Audit is provided by Sleeptel Pty Ltd, ACN 701 740 178, ABN 34 701 740 178, an Australian proprietary company. In these terms, “we” and “Sleeptel” mean that company, and “you” means the person using the audit.
By taking an audit you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not take one - nothing else is required of you.
What Sleeptel is.
Sleeptel asks you about how you sleep and what you sleep on, and returns a mattress recommendation with the reasoning shown. You can optionally connect a wearable so the recommendation can use your own sleep measurements rather than only what you tell us.
The audit is free to you. We do not charge for it, and there is no account to create.
Who can use it.
The audit is for adults. You must be 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and if we learn that we have, we delete it.
What the audit is, and isn't.
The audit is a mattress fit recommendation. It reads what you tell us and, if you connect a wearable, a limited set of sleep measurements, then returns a target specification and the beds that match it. It is not health advice, and nothing in it is a finding about your health.
Confidence numbers are a realistic estimate of how well our inputs constrain the recommendation. They are not warranties. A high-confidence top fit is the best guess from the data available, not a guarantee that a mattress will suit you.
A mattress is a personal thing and no model can be certain from a questionnaire. Every brand we recommend offers a trial period. Use it.
We update the catalogue and the way we rank it. The audit you receive by email is a snapshot of the day it was generated, and a later audit may differ.
Connecting a wearable.
Connecting Oura, Whoop, Garmin or Apple Health is optional. The audit works without it. If you do connect one, you are asking us to read a limited set of sleep measurements, once. We destroy the access token straight after that read, so there is no ongoing connection left to switch off. While you are still taking the audit you can remove those readings yourself, and either way we delete them three hours after your result link expires. To have anything we derived from them deleted afterwards, email privacy@sleeptel.dev and we will do it within 72 hours.
Your raw measurements, and anything we compute from them, are used to produce your own audit. They are never sold. What is and is not shared is set out in full in the privacy policy, and that document governs if the two ever appear to differ.
Wearable makers set their own rules about what we may do with their data, and we follow them. That is why some things you might expect to be possible are not.
Using the service fairly.
Take audits for yourself, honestly. Do not submit someone else's data as your own, do not attempt to break, overload or probe the service, and do not scrape it or resell what it returns.
If you are a security researcher and you find a weakness, we want to hear from you before anyone else does. Our disclosure contact is at /.well-known/security.txt. Testing done in good faith and reported to us is welcome.
How we make money.
Sleeptel earns a referral commission from some of the brands we list, and sells consented data and tooling to mattress sellers. Neither affects where a mattress ranks in your audit. The full disclosure, including what a seller can and cannot see, is in the privacy policy.
Availability and changes.
We do not promise the service will always be available. We may change how the audit works, add or remove brands from the catalogue, or stop offering it. If we stop, that does not change what we already owe you about your data, which is in the privacy policy.
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page tells you when they last changed. A change never applies backwards to an audit you have already received.
Liability.
Australian Consumer Law gives you guarantees that cannot be excluded, restricted or modified. Nothing in these terms does that, and nothing here should be read as trying to.
Where the law allows us to limit our liability, we limit it to supplying the audit again. Beyond that, and to the extent the law permits, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for a decision you make about buying a mattress. The audit is information to weigh, not a substitute for trying a mattress yourself during the trial period the seller offers.
The audit is free. That is not a reason we owe you nothing - it is simply why there is no purchase price to refund.
Stopping.
You can stop using Sleeptel whenever you like. There is no account to close. If you want us to stop contacting you, or to delete what we hold, the privacy policy sets out how, and those routes work whether or not you keep using the audit.
We may decline to serve someone who is abusing the service in the ways described in section 06.
Governing law.
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. You and Sleeptel submit to the courts of that state and the courts able to hear appeals from them. If you are a consumer, this does not take away any right you have to bring a claim where you live.
